First Journal Post

Upon reflecting on what I have learned the initial few weeks in class, I realized I have already retained so much new information. This ranges from vocabulary I utilize to the attitude/manner in which I approach my audience when it comes to covering and addressing certain subjects that are provided in class.

The feedback I receive from my professor regarding my work style and vocabulary has ultimately taught me to be less extravagant with my writing. I noticed that I had either excessive vocabulary or content, but what I learned was to keep information at a bare minimum in order to avoid bias and confusion for the reader. I noticed my habit of deterring away from being concise and minimal with my words as well when constructing my news briefs; I also learned this as a result of the feedback I received from my professor. I now understand how to analyze a portion of information and reflect accordingly in a professional and neutral manner.

I learned the importance of exercising these writing habits and why my professor puts an emphasis on them because I know it will aid me in the future. I was shown to perceive information from an outside perspective and from various angles in order to write in the most considerable and respectful way for readers and audiences from all backgrounds.
